Pregnancy can be an exciting time, but it also brings physical changes that unfortunately can sometimes lead to discomfort. At Baton Rouge General, our therapists specialize in helping you manage pregnancy symptoms including:

Pelvic Health After Pregnancy

It’s normal for pregnancy and childbirth to affect the function of your pelvic floor, leading to uncomfortable symptoms. But there’s help to get you back to feeling like yourself. At Baton Rouge General, our pelvic physical therapists specialize in treating the following symptoms:

  • Back, pelvic, hip or abdominal pain
  • Core weakness or abdominal muscle separation (DRA)
  • Bladder or bowel training
  • Constipation
  • Vaginal heaviness
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Scar management
  • Safe return to physical activity

Our therapists will work with you to develop an individualized plan that may include manual techniques, dry needling, cupping, corrective exercise, hip and core strengthening, and bladder or bowel movement.
