Sub Specialty Selective Rotations/Electives
The purpose of elective rotations is to allow residents the opportunity to participate in medical activities of their own choosing based on interest, strength or needs. ABIM requires exposure to Internal Medicine Specialty Rotations.
Practice Management
Practice management is taught longitudinally in a variety of forums and settings, as well as during the Ambulatory Medicine month in the third year of training.
Didactic Education
-
Morning report is held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and led by attendings from our inpatient teaching teams We use a case-based format and involve physicians from other specialties to enrich the educational experience for our residents.
-
We have “Thursday School” every Thursday afternoon. During this time, residents are protected from clinical responsibilities and free to focus on learning. We emphasize both board preparation and real-world clinical application. In addition to traditional lecture, we have incorporated more small-group, team-based learning, simulations, and other inventive methods of education to keep our residents involved and learning.
