About Me
Dr. Shaun Spinks is a board-certified family medicine physician. He attended Louisiana Tech University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his family medicine residency at Conroe Family Medical Education Foundation in Conroe, Texas.
Dr. Spinks was inspired to become a family physician when he volunteered as a medical student at the Baton Rouge River Center with the Baton Rouge General Family Medicine Residency Program in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This experience proved beneficial during his residency in Texas, when Hurricane Ike hit Galveston, and he was ultimately selected as lead resident over the disaster management team for the residency and stayed the entire week at the hospital during that storm.
Natives of Zachary, Dr. Spinks and his wife have three children, Nathaniel, Mabry and Gabriel. His wife is also a clinician and graduated with her nursing degree and is a licensed RN. In his spare time, Dr. Spinks enjoys hunting, fishing, reading, listening to and playing music, collecting movies and traveling.
