Bio

Dr. Ross Cockrell earned his first bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from LSU in 2004. He moved to New Orleans and earned another bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory sciences from the LSU School of Allied Health in 2005 before being accepted into the LSU School of Medicine-New Orleans. In May 2011, Dr. Cockrell earned his Medical Doctorate and decided to further his education and training. 

Dr. Cockrell first performed a Surgery Internship at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri before relocating to Philadelphia to complete his Urology Residency at the University of Pennsylvania in 2016, earning the Outstanding Surgical Technician Award for exemplary surgical skills and technique while serving as one of the Chief Residents. In 2017 Dr. Cockrell completed a Urologic Robotic/Minimally Invasive Surgical Fellowship under internationally known and recognized Robotic Surgeon Dr. David I Lee while also serving as an Instructor of Surgery in the Urology Department. 

Dr. Cockrell is Board Certified in Urology and licensed in Louisiana. He is involved in many professional organizations such as the American Urologic Association, Endourological Society, American College of Surgeons, American College of Physicians, and American Society of Clinical Urologists. He has presented both Robotic and Prostate Cancer research internationally and has written several chapters, both on general urology and robotics, along with being an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Endourology.
