BRG Expands Behavioral Health, Internal Medicine Services at Mid City
BATON ROUGE, La. — Baton Rouge General (BRG) is again expanding services at its Mid City campus. Mid City Medicine Clinic will offer behavioral health and internal medicine care with nine experienced providers.
Behavioral health services at the clinic are led by Venugopal Vatsavayi, MD and Shirley Griffey, DNP, PMHNP-BC. The clinic treats a wide range of psychiatric disorders and issues, helping patients with medication management, psychiatric evaluations, ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) evaluations and procedures, and referrals.
Internal medicine services at Mid City Medicine Clinic are headed up by Venkat Banda, MD and Ethan Greenblatt, MD, along with Allison Barbin, MD, Jewel Crockett, MD, Chad Kaplan, MD, Srujani Karra, MD, and Katherine May, MD. Internal medicine doctors, or internists, treat the whole person, not just a set of symptoms. They specialize in preventing, diagnosing, and managing everything from the everyday cold to more complex conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease. The clinic is also connected to BRG’s Internal Medicine Residency Program, with resident physicians providing patient care in the outpatient setting as part of their three-year curriculum.
Mid City Medicine Clinic is located at 3401 North Blvd., Suite 100. To schedule an appointment for behavioral health, call (225) 381-2621 and for internal medicine, call (225) 387-7900. Learn more at brgeneral.org.
