BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge General (BRG) will host a pop-up vaccination event for postal workers on Wednesday, March 24. In collaboration with Baton Rouge chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), around 60 postal carriers will be vaccinated.
Postal workers are eligible under the new criteria effective Monday, March 22. NALC is the union that represents city letter carriers of the U.S. Postal Service. Registration for the event is closed, but BRG has plans to continue similar events, much like its effort to vaccinate newly eligible educators last month.
“Supply is starting to meet demand in Baton Rouge, so we’re starting to plan for vaccine events in outer areas – like Port Allen, Ascension Parish, Livingston Parish,” said Dr. Raneesha Ford, director of pharmacy services at BRG.
