Lawrence Breitkreutz, Jr., MD, Joins Baton Rouge General Cardiovascular and Thoracic Specialists

BATON ROUGE, La. – Lawrence Breitkreutz, Jr., MD, has recently joined Baton Rouge General Physicians (BRGP) as a cardiothoracic surgeon.
He will practice at BRGP Cardiovascular and Thoracic Specialists, located on the Bluebonnet campus at 8888 Summa Avenue, Suite 300, joining V. Antoine Keller, MD. Dr. Breitkreutz will perform adult cardiac and thoracic surgery with a focus on valvular and complex coronary disease.
A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Breitkreutz received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina, then his medical degree and Master of Science in Anatomy from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed an internship, residencies, fellowship and research at the University of Alabama, where he also served as a clinical instructor in general surgery, and cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Breitkreutz is also a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tulane.

Dr. Breitkreutz was in private practice in Texas for 20 years before returning to Louisiana for a second and final time in 2014.
