Here’s a delicious, romantic, yet guilt-free treat that you can make yourself in no time at all. It’s a great idea for kids, friends, co-workers, or that special someone in your life. For an extra-special treat, sprinkle these chocolate-covered strawberries with coconut flakes or finely chopped nuts.
Ingredients:- 2 lg. (3.5-oz.) Lindt 70% cocoa bars
- 1-2 doz. strawberries
- Unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)
- Dry-roasted nuts (optional)
Directions: Melt the chocolate bars over a double boiler. (Don't use the microwave, as chocolate can very quickly scorch.) Also, make sure that you do not get any water into the chocolate, because that will ruin the texture. Wash and dry the berries, then dip carefully into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip back into the pot. Place onto wax paper to cool and harden. Sprinkle with coconut flakes or finely chopped dry-roasted nuts while chocolate is still melted. Make these the day they are to be served. (They will sweat when refrigerated.)
