Salary & Benefits

Salary: $63,929.66

Vacation:

Three weeks of paid vacation as well as five days for approved continuing medical education leave with compensation up to $1,500 towards a sports medicine continuing medical education course.

Health Plan:

Comprehensive health coverage for the fellow and his or her dependents through the General Health System Health Plan, paid by Baton Rouge General. Optional dental, vision and critical illness plans can be chosen at the fellow's expense.

Life Insurance:

Term life insurance coverage is provided to the fellow in an amount equal to annual base salary, paid by Baton Rouge General. Additional life insurance and short-term disability benefits can be elected.

Professional Liability:

House staff is covered through General Health System's Self-Insurance Professional Liability Plan for all duties performed as a fellow, paid by Baton Rouge General.

Financial Management:

Personal retirement savings funds with unique and valuable tax advantages are available through the General Health System Tax Sheltered Annuity program. Regular share savings account by payroll deduction and other savings and loan programs are available at Bayou Federal Credit Union.

Other Discounts:

Fellows receive discounts on prescriptions and discounts for services, programs and facilities of General Health System.

Other Benefits:

White coats and laundry services are provided, paid by the Baton Rouge General.
