EKG (Electrocardiogram) Basics is a 4-hour class that provides an overview of the heart's functions and electrical system in relation to EKG interpretation. The class is designed for those in healthcare looking to increase knowledge and proficiency in Basic rhythm interpretation. The cost covers instructional fee, testing, and an attendance certificate. The course qualifies for 3.75 Nursing Contact Hours. This class is not equivalent to EKG Technician Certification.
Course Objectives:
- Define electrocardiogram
- Familiarize yourself with the functions of the heart
- Understand the electrical system of the heart
- Identify basic parts of an EKG complex
- Rhythm interpretation
Validation Method: Demonstrate correct rhythm interpretation.
