Shashitha Gavini, DO

Bio

Dr. Shashitha Gavini is a cardiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Baton Rouge and Prairieville. 

She received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences as well as a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in business, psychology, and chemistry at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She attended William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine to earn her doctorate in osteopathic medicine. Her residency in internal medicine and cardiology fellowship was completed at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where she was also named chief resident.

Dr. Gavini is board certified in internal medicine. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. 

She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and live music. As a Baton Rouge native, she looks forward to serving her home community.
