Support Groups

The Stroke Support Group invites all patients with a history of a stroke, families and caregivers to join us. Patients have the opportunity to talk about experiences they have had since their stroke, struggles and ways of coping. Patients encourage one another to discuss the impact that therapy has had on their rehabilitation. The group is led by Baton Rouge General speech, physical and occupational therapists.

Sessions held the first Thursday of every month at 12:15 p.m.

Caregiver Support Group
The Caregiver Support Group is for individuals caring for a loved one with an illness or disability. Topics and guest speakers may vary each month, but the core focus will always be on ways of supporting you.

Topics may include effective communication within the family, maintaining good boundaries, how to not feel guilty when asking for help, how to find resources and how to take care of yourself while caring for others. Our goal is to take care of you!

Sessions held the second Thursday of every month at 2:00 p.m.
