AARP Home Fit
Many seniors have felt the heartache of their homes’ limitations: difficulty navigating a wheelchair, slipping on an obstructed entrance or stretching for those out-of-reach shelves. As with any other relationship, it’s important that your house is a “good fit” and that’s where AARP’s Home Fit program comes in.

Baton Rouge General therapists will educate adults 50+ and their family members on how to make their homes more “livable," recognize potential barriers and provide solutions.

Classes held the third Thursday of every month at 12:15 p.m.

Body Mechanics and Lifting Techniques
Learn about the proper way to lift, move and assist during all day activities such as getting out of bed, in and out of a car, etc. Build a foundation of safe movement that protects the caregiver and loved one from injury.
