Employee Giving Program Supports Patients, Fellow Co-Workers at Baton Rouge General01-Aug-2014
Baton Rouge – More than 1,000 Baton Rouge General employees raised a record-breaking $277,000 in donations and pledges through the annual You, Me & BRG Employee Giving Program, which supports programs and services at the not-for-profit, community hospital. The program, which is facilitated through Baton Rouge General’s Foundation, is an opportunity for employees to join together to make a financial contribution that directly impacts all aspects of the hospital.
“It is truly inspiring to see the tremendous generosity of Baton Rouge General’s employees,” said Mark F. Slyter, President and CEO. “Their contributions touch the lives of each and every person served by our hospital, and demonstrate our entire team’s personal dedication to our patients, their fellow co-workers and our community.”
One hundred percent of the funds raised through the program directly support employees, patients and their families through hospital-wide focus projects, employee-driven projects, and the employee assistance fund (EAF) which helps staff members who have experienced major life challenges, such as fires and floods. Since the program began in 2010, more than $1.1 million has been donated by this program to support 61 projects throughout both hospital campuses – ranging from innovative robotic technology for heart and GYN patients to facility enhancements.
