Baton Rouge General offers a supportive and palliative care consult team for patients with chronic disease or advanced illness. Palliative care is designed to relieve pain and suffering, and provide the best quality of life possible. Our team, comprised of a physician, registered nurse, licensed clinical social worker and chaplain, assists your primary care physician to deliver well-coordinated and well-communicated care while providing support for the patient, and his family, at any stage of illness and at any stage of life. Guidance and counseling is also provided for those struggling with complex decisions about medical issues.
